Music, like all other forms of cultural expression, evolve over a length of time. What is successful in one generation, is not necessarily so in the next. As a result, musical artists who attain success today appeal to the cultural trends present in the current period. Of course, occasionally these trends are anachronistic in nature and throwbacks to an earlier generation. Both musicians and musical trends are constantly in flux and rarely remain static for a length of time.

Music today has become more niched and appeals to more fractured markets. This appears to have occured due to the opening up of communication channels for musicial artists. Musicians are no longer subject to the whims and desires of a small subset of music producers. They can use the internet or other new communication channels to appeal directly to the consumer of the product, and attain success by only garnering a small subset of the available audience.

These musical trends have led to a more niched musical tapestry which has improved self-expression by artists. As a result, musical artists are both expected and able to provide an musical experience that is honest and personal. If an audience member connects with this experience, all the best. If not, they can seek out a musical artist they can connect with.

So you just got engaged and your husband to be is more concerned with direct tv packages and football scores than your upcoming wedding plans. We’ve got some tips for you, though, if you’re thinking about hiring a string group to play at your reception or ceremonytake a look.
Decide on Size: Whether you choose a quartet, a duo or even something unusual like a guitar and a violin pair, your string assortment should be determined by size. Consider hiring at least one musician for every 50 people in attendance.
Talk to the Venue: Speak to your venue about what kind of space will be available for your string group – do they need a hard surface for an outdoor ceremony? How about amplification equipment? These are some things you don’t have to worry about on the big day.
Talk Songs: Most accomplished string groups can actually play a variety of contemporary songs with their classical instruments lending a more casual vibe to your affair. Decide on some great song you love and some classics you have to have then talk it over with the band members.

The music of today has endured a long and bumpy road. The evolution of pop music has taken many twists and turns to end up where it is today. From the up-beat tunes of early singers to today’s teeny bopper beats, pop music has always kept its energy even though at times it came from manufactured sources.

In the beginning, pop music started as a girl singing in front of the mirror with her microphone hair brush and male ensembles practicing in the garage. As the genre became increasingly mainstream, pop music became a production line of cookie-cutter products. Big-time music executives were scouting the streets for bright talent and meshing strangers together to forcefully create harmony. As with most trends, this form of music-making only last a few years. Reality shows, contests and other inorganic forms of music compilations are on a downward spiral as the general public is tired of fake music. True artist that write their own material, have created their own unique sound and have their own vision of their musical future are on the rise. Innovative sounds and fresh appeal is hot at the moment. The general public wants more music and less money-making fluff.

When the pilot premiere of Glee was aired on Fox on May 19, 2009, no one expected much. The show, centered around a high school show choir and its director, seemed to be lacking in plot. Playing off the success of musical competition shows like American Idol, people wondered how Glee could possibly sustain itself. How interesting could a high school glee club be?

The answer: plenty interesting. Glee had become an overnight sensation. With a talented cast, large budget and a writing team unafraid to push the envelope, Glee is now in its third season and showing no signs of slowing. The series has not been without controversy; however, the controversy only adds to its popularity. In the past, Glee has featured teen sex, pregnancy and homosexual relationships. Parents and critics alike have decried the mature themes, maintaining that it sets a bad example for the show’s typically young audience.

In short, Glee is popular because of its reality. There is something in every episode to which the audience can relate. For teens, it is an accurate picture of their daily lives. For adults, it is a nostalgic look back to an easier time. For all, Glee is wildly entertaining.

Have you ever walked into a party that had no music playing? Probably not. And if you did, it probably didn’t last very long. People probably looked around, grabbed a drink or two and then bailed. No one throwing a party wants for it to be over before it even begins. So what does music actually do for a party?

Well, first of all is set the mood. Music has the power to relax, excite and calm people. This is a great asset to any party environment. People have lots of other things going on in their lives and sometimes that stress can carry over. You don’t want an environment of stress at your party.

Choosing the right music, however, is half the battle. You don’t want your party to start off with thrashing metal or ear pounding techno. You want to give your party guests a chance to ease in to the setting. Start your music selection with some easy listening background music so people can mingle and chat. Then later on into the party you can transfer to some more upbeat songs that will entice people to move around and dance.

Music at a party will also soothe over the dull parts of a party. If a lot of people haven’t shown up yet and the few standing around look bored then throwing on some age appropriate tunes will give people something to talk about, and some form of entertainment until things lighten up.

Though it may seem like a lot of work to create a party playlist, it is something that will pay off when your party begins. Don’t be the person that had the lame party! Liven up your party with some new hits and a few old classics and your party will be talked about for years.

With the wide-spread success of shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and others, it is apparent that talent shows have a grip on society. Maybe it’s just the entertainment factor of watching people that can do things that we can’t. Awe is a strong emotion that can hold a grip on us like nothing else. In fact, studies show that the most popular news articles to pass on are the ones that inspire a sense of awe in us. Awe makes us want to share with other people the impact something has had upon us.Get more information here. http://demicast.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/reminder-talent-show/ That might explain why talent shows are so popular now days. Another possibility is that they give us hope that we can do something extraordinary. Most people want a purpose and a meaning to their lives. Talent shows can give us something to reach for. They show us that their are greater things to be attained in life. In truth, it all boils down to the fact that talent shows touch something inside us that is part of being human. If this was not true, there is no way that talent shows could have endured the long success that we have all seen happen.

Season one winner, Kelly Clarkson, has also made quite a name for herself with two Grammys and several blockbuster hits like “Breakaway” and “My Life Would Suck Without You.” She recently released her fifth studio album, and continues to tour.

Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks, from seasons two and five, were overshadowed by Clay Aiken, who was second to Ruben, and Chris Daughtry who was third place to Taylor.

Other winners include Fantasia Barrino from season three, Jordin Sparks from season six, who has had some popular hits on the airwaves, and David Cook from season seven. David recently finished his first major tour in 2009 and began working on his second album.

Kris Allen won season eight, but runner up Adam Lambert shot into the mainstream like a bullet. His Glam Nation Tour was sold out everywhere. Kris’s debut single, “Live Like We’re Dying”hit the charts and skyrocketed upward.

Music is said to be the universal language. Out of the many music artists that exist today, or have passed on recently, there is a select few that have greatly influenced their specific genres of music, and touched millions of hearts and souls worldwide. Michael Jackson was one of the most influential music artists and entertainers of our time. His career spanned many decades, and he was known for his intense presence and passion with his music.

Jay-Z and Kanye West are two musical artists who have made a name for themselves and influenced many within the music world and mainstream society. The whole story can be found at http://threaders.wordpress.com/2011/08/01/music-monday-kanye-west/ Jay-Z has had a lot of staying power in the music game, and Kanye West has been noted for his innovation, lyrics, and fashion sense.

Lady GaGa, saving the best for last, is one of the most influential musical artists of our time, and right now. She wears fantastic outfits in her performances and videos, has classical training, can actually sing, play the piano, and dance. In the modern music industry, so hungry and concerned more with capturing fans dollars over supporting real talent, Lady GaGa holds an influence only seen by the likes of Madonna or M.J.

Many people enjoy listening to music because of the way that it affects their moods. Believe it or not, one simple song can change your mood, even for just a little while. Some songs make you sad, others may stir a sense of happiness and contentment within you. Whatever the case, there are numerous ways in which a song can deeply affect you. We will explore some of those ways below.

One way that a song can affect someone’s mood is through the melody alone. For example, if there are many crescendos and the song has a dark, low tone, it may make the listener feel frightened. If the melody is more cheery and upbeat, it may make the person feel happy, oblivious, carefree, or anticipatory.

Another method of affecting one’s mood through song is by the lyrics. Many people listen to the lyrics of a song and are often greatly impacted. They can relate to songs about breakups, happiness, special moments, etc.

There are many different ways that a song can change your mood. Whether it is through the melody or the lyrics, you are still certain to be able to be deeply affected by the mood of it.
